In 2004, Adriana Castro started ASOCIACIÓN ALE to help people who need organ transplants find organs and the funds to finance the operations. As the President of the organization, she leads all activities as it continues to provide funds for others to get transplants and advocates for political change in her country to support hospitals and individuals in getting the equipment and supports needed in the transplant community. Adriana's 3 year old son died after an operation and she donated his organs. Through doing so, she felt that he lived in some way through the recipients of his organs and was inspired to help families enduring the same obstacles. Also a powerful speaker, she speaks often all over about organ donation including to the government legislators to advocate for support and change in Mexico's laws. When not engaged with work, Adriana enjoys cooking and attending her children's soccer games.
