Monica Torres is the Business Operations Country Leader for IBM. She has been in her career field for over 13 years. She is responsible for leading the academic industry, building the eco systems for the academics and going to universities and different organizations related to academics. She makes joint ventures and alliances to use IBM technology as well.
Monica says that technology is an area and industry that impacts the world, different societies and the future. She wanted to be in a career that was always changing and innovative. Her expertise are in strategy, consulting and showing results. Monica has a Master’s in Business from Ava Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in 2015.
Monica is a member of Toast Masters International and Ideo Community. She speaks publicly about the company and academics in the industry as well as the gap between the roles in the industry and the academics. Monica was published in an interview about the industry and academics in November of 2018.
Monica has been recognized for innovation and won Best Unit for IBM in 2014. In the next few years she hopes to be an executive who adds value to IBM, get a promotion and be in charge of a business unit. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
