Aagje K. Ieven is Secretary General with the European Federation of Associations of Families of People with Mental Illness (EUFAMI), |ocated in Belgium. Prior to her current role, she has served in roles such as Senior Advocacy and Campaigns Coordinator at Eurochild, European and International Policy Advisor at Gezinsbond, Research and Knowledge Development Coordinator at EuroHealthNet, and more. Aagje has a PhD, ABD, in Law from the University of Leuven and Columbia University, 2008, with a Fulbright Grant for Visiting Scholarship at Columbia, NYC, 2007. She has an extensive educational background studying and earning a Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Leuven and Radboud University; Aagje has a Bachelors degree in Medicine from the University of Leuven, 1998. A member of Amnesty International, Aagje speaks Dutch, English, French, German, and some Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, theatre, and film.
