Andrea Hugh Sam has worked as Operations Manager in a family owned/operated business for the past 24 years. In the last five years, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and will start a PhD in September to acquire her doctorate in Cultural & Clinical Psychology. She is currently and has been for the past 5 years interning with the Caribbean Institute of Mental Health & Substance Abuse where she is under the direct supervision of the psychiatrists and other professionals working there.
Moving forward, Andrea plans to obtain her PhD and to leave her current position and work full time in psychology. She credits her success thus far to her family's support as well as passion and hard work.
When not engaged with work, Andrea runs half marathons, does weight training, and enjoys reading and traveling. She also volunteers at Camp Boggy for children with terminal and lifetime illnesses and the Ronald McDonald house in Canada.
