Alison Cook is currently an independent urban planner/editor who has worked in the urban planning field for over 25 years. Early career experience was with the Australian government in Population Census, the Housing Department, and the Urban and Regional Development Department. Subsequently she moved into Planning Consultancy in Canberra before taking up a lectureship at The University of Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong, two key publications were "Land Use/Transport Planning in Hong Kong" and "Building Sustainable Communities:". Alison was "Cultural Resource Planner" on the Zhejiang Urban Environment Project in China. She is now semi-retired and prefers to undertake specialised editing work.
Editing documents on urban planning and related topics for professionals and graduate students. She is especially keen to help those for whom English is a second language. Key subject areas: Land Use and Transport Planning; Heritage Conservation; Housing and Construction; Community Participation
