Angela Boardman is the UK Continuous Improvement and Training Manager for Etex Building Performance. She has three years of experience with Etex Building Performance and five years in this industry. She previously spent 21 years in the pharma industry. Currently, she manages a team of six. She trains and guides them. She also sets out all continuous improvement strategy (what, when and how they will do a particular process, process improvement/lean manufacturing policies). Her employer, Etex manufactures and sells building material. Her and her team work with the dry lining/boards materials division. Angela was always inquisitive and wanted to understand how things worked so she could make them work better. She came into her current industry after being approached and asked to come from the pharmaceutical industry where she had worked and done process improvement for years. She accepted because her old employer was looking to outsource and closing sections down so it was very hard to motivate people to work towards process improvement under those circumstances. In the next few year she hopes to move up into a higher management role and be more involved in broader company strategy where she leads a team of people who are at her current level in countries around the world. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
