Annie Paul was an Audit Inspector for the Civil Aviation Authority of United Arab Emirates based in Dubai. She has 25 years of experience in her career field, however, she has been unemployed the last two years due to a stroke. Annie's journey in aviation began in 1989 as a Glider Pilot and she have been in Operations since 1995. She started off wanting to fly and did complete her Commercial Pilots Licence and Instrument Rating. However, due to the closure of many domestic airlines and subsequent excess of experienced pilots, ended up in Flight Operations and hasn't looked back since. Her experience in Operations started with Flight Clearance (Red Cap Dispatch) at a cargo airline. Then went on to documentation at an import export house; non-schedule VVIP Flight Handling with a handling agent; handled all operations related activities and even the whole team while on wet lease. Began her journey with legacy carriers in Crew Roster Planning and continued with Flight Planning and Dispatch, Flight Operations Quality Assurance Audits, Standards and Compliance, as the department Head for Quality, Safety and Occupational Health, Post Holder Quality Assurance Operations and lastly as an Audit Inspector in Flight Operations of a Civil Aviation Authority. Her duties include auditing inspection, surveillance of the operations of the airlines and management. She was prompted to go into this field because she has always had a fascination for the aviation industry. Annie’s expertise are in flight operations quality assurance. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Kerala University in 1991. When she was working she belonged to the groups, Women in Aviation, The Ninety Nines and Flight Safety. Annie doesn’t do any public speaking or lecturing. She attributes her success to her passion. In the next few years her goal is to find new employment and get back to taking her career further. Annie says her biggest achievement was when she lead a project in her company and her boss granted her complete control of it. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
