Asli Akinturk has been an International Professional in Manufacturing and is currently the Director of Jeanswear Technical and Engineering for VF Europe, BVBA. She is currently working in Brussels for the VF Umbrella which includes Lee Jeans and Wrangler Jeans. She has been in this position for nearly 1 year and has been with the company for over 25 years. Asil is originally from Turkey and has worked in Asia, and Europe and has a very broad and extensive knowledge of the Manufacturing and Operations sector of the fashion industry, specifically denim. She is the youngest person, let alone female, Plant Operations Director for the company and she has also been awarded the Most Successful Business Award in Manufacturing from Economy Magazine. Asil has had several positions with the company in her tenure including Fabric Finishing and Process Consultant as well as Sourcing Center Manager. She is an expert on Supply Chain Processes and Management, Contract Negotiations, Support, Team Leadership, and Concept to Manufacturing Processes. Asil is a graduate of The EGE University in Turkey and is currently residing and working in their headquarters in Brussels. She is an avid outdoor water sport enthusiast and enjoys sailing and the outdoors. She is a single mom with a 10 year old son, Errol, and balances motherhood with a very high pressure and important position with VF Brands. She is also a talented knitter and embroider and is multilingual.
