I have been married since 1992 and have 2 children (2 boys - 23 and 15 y.o.)
Freelance translator, interpreter and teacher (Italian, English and French). I started working in 1984 and have never stopped my education and training! Now I'm an agent for foreign language schools and organisations also in tourism industry. I work with local and abroad businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals to help them with languages. I work together with native speakers and language coaches and consultants.
Our team offers an innovative and powerful new approach to language acquisition; we really like and enjoy working in a network, helping each-other and growing together for a better service and new experiences. Based in Tuscany, in a beautiful area situated between Florence, Lucca, Pistoia and Pisa, we can provide tailored coaching, training and homestay solutions. Last year we started a net of families (we are about 30 now) to host class trips from France (more than 60 students!), Erasmus and other types of experience for students from all over the world.

With over 25 years of experience, Barbara Cupiti is a freelance translator, interpreter and teacher (Italian, English and French). She started working in 1984 and has never stopped her education and training. Now, she's an agent for foreign language schools and organizations also in the tourism industry. She works with local and global businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals to help them with languages, and works together with native speakers and language coaches and consultants.
Since 2016 she organise an annual meeting to develop the learning of foreign languages at school or for work.
Also a prolific writer, Barbara has co-authored some books about the territory she has been living since 1992: the history coming back to life through unique eye-witness accounts, and a report on the arboreal situation of a particular natural area in Tuscany . Moving forward, she plans to grow and develop her business and to apply her core values of persistence and collaboration.

This is an attempt, a desire to communicate and understand the other with whom we do not share a common language. It is the research for meaning that includes transformation, transmutation, interpretation, carrying over, and even removal. It involves the desire to understand, to find and to make meaning. It is not as easy and straightforward as it seems. It implies the transfer of a system of signs and codes, which also comes with the weight of culture and history, to another such system of sign and codes, with a different history and culture. There are even words which cannot be translated from one language to another simply because they do not exist in the target language.
Teaching is based on developing communication skills and encourage active listening, pronunciation practise and speaking. You are welcome at our home during all year, to know the Italian language, culture, nature and cooking!
