Birgit Hansson was the first president of Uppsala Psychology Alumni, and elaborated the cooperation between the Institution of Psychology and the Alumnis.
Dr. Birgit Hansson has spent her career giving back. As the President of Kvinna till Kvinna for the past five years, Dr. Birgit Hansson's work focuses on building networks that foster peace projects for women in conflict stricken areas. She holds a Doctorate with Honors and an MBA in Psychology from the University of Stockholm. Over the course of her career, she has led several NGO's and organizations and is very active in local politics. She is or has been affiliated with several professional organizations being the current President of Balans, President (Full-Time) of the Swedish Psychological Association (1987-2001), Secretary General of European Federation of Professional Psychological Associations (1990-1997), Vice President of the Swedish Academic Federation (1993-2001) and Director of the Swedish Police Academy (2001-2007). Dr. Hansson is called upon regularly to speak and guest lecture. As a mentor she has guided quite few adepts and for the moment she is the coach for distinguished politician.
