Caroline Miwa has over 19 years of experience as an auditor and a manager, and currently is Corporate QHSE Manager for Acciona Infrastructure Canada Inc. based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Her average day consists of managing the QHSE systems to the construction projects in Canada, having one of them, the current largest construction project in Canada. She has worked in projects in Canada and Latin America, including Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Paraguay. She has conducted audits and managed QEHS systems for sites in a variety of industrial, power, construction and service sectors, including: aluminium, food, electronic, heavy construction (highway, underground and surface subway, refinery, airport, port, stadium, wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant, cement plant, grain crushing plant), education and testing laboratories. Ms. Miwa is Civil Engineer and Occupational Health and Safety Engineer and has completed a master’s degree in Environmental Management. She also has formal education in Quality Engineering and Project Management (PMI). She is fluent in Spanish and English, and Portuguese is her native language. She has spoken at conferences internally and given presentations on QHSE applications. Ms. Miwa was had the opportunity to work at the one of the largest construction projects for each countries Ecuador and Brazil, acting as QEHS&SR (Social Responsibility) Manager on both projects. It is worth mentioning the construction project of the stadiums for the 2014 World Cup, in one of the host cities in Brazil, including the active participation on the LEED Certification process and on the security team for the World Cup event along with the Province's main teams such as public security, civil police, fire department, intelligence agency and traffic police. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other likeminded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member. She is trilingual and a people-oriented executive.
