An esteemed politician of over 16 years, Carolyn Labey is the Deputy of Grouville, Minister for International Development for the States of Jersey in France. In this role, Ms. Labey sits in assembly vote in parliament, had a citizenship program implemented in schools so that students would be able to learn about local politics, created Jersey's first cultural strategy for international development, and will focus on the island's development for the next 4 years. Prior to assuming her position, Ms. Labey was interested in public government, ran for election in her community and won as Assistant Minister of Environment. Since then, she has enjoyed great success and notoriety in her community for her work. Additionally, she writes a column for her local parish. When not engaged with work, Ms. Labey spends time with her three children and goes running at least once a day. A passionate philanthropist, she implements at least three charitable projects a year including one this year working with mentally disabled citizens in Lebanon.
