Dr. Catherine Van Der Straeten is a Professor at Ghent University Hospital. She has been in her professional field for over 36 years. Catherine is the head of the hospital and her primary tasks are managing clinical trials, non academic hospitals, patient follow ups and the digital clinical warehouse. She came into this field by way of natural progression after becoming a Medical Doctor.
Catherine’s expertise are in research and orthopedic. She has a Post-Doctorate/PhD in Medical Science from Ghent University in 2013. She belongs to the International Society of Technology, European Hip Society and Chair of the General Council of Board of Directors. She does some public speaking at organized conferences and at the International Technology of Joint Replacement.
Catherine won an award at the Ottoaufranc Awards in 2012 and from the National Institute of Health. In the next few years she hopes to further develop her departments and be a leader in medical research in Belgium as well as internationally. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
