Doctoral Degree, Health Nutrition (2003)
My Mom Telma is an 83 years old young and healthy lady, who loooove to garden and take care of her birds (canaries, most of all), have 2 sisters and 5 nieces (yes, we are a matriarchal family: 3 generations of women only!!!!) the only “boy” in ours lives by know is Obi (my beautiful mix breed chilean black dog ????)
I’ve been working in the public health system for 15 years now, always in my area: nutrition. Trough those years I’ve take care of 2 generations of Catemu and other cities citizens; learning so much about the good and bad habits of my fellow chileans, and recently (about 5-7 years now) triying to assimilate and understand the language and eating (and living) habits of the Haiti immigrants (Bolivian, Peruvian and Colombians too). This’s why I had to learn the creyol basics, what was pretty interesting because I get to learn french too ????
Claudia G. Garrado is a Nutritionist for Consultorio Catemu. She has over 15 years of experience in her field. She is the Senior Director for the program. She helps young adults and seniors set goals and reach them within three months. She also sends data to central administration and helps with distribution of the products to the government. She was inspired to go into her field due to the increasing problem with obesity due to soda and fast foods. Claudia has a PhD in Health Nutrition from the University of Chile in 2003. She has regularly hosts seminars. She attributes her success to the support she received from her sister and her extended family. In the future she hopes to expand her free time and to do different kinds of lessons and plans to take care of obese people so that they do more physical activities. She also hopes to have her own place where people can go learn about nutrition and physical activity. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
