Colette Young is the Department Chair of the Business Department and a Human Resources Consultant for Washtenaw Community College/Human Capital Services, Inc. She is a dynamic professional who believes in the importance of mentoring and empowering people. Colette joined the staff of Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan as an instructor in 1987. Today she is both a Full-time instructor as well as the Department Chair of the Business Department. Wanting to give her Washtenaw Community College students the strongest foundation, Colette developed the Human Resource Management Certificate, aligned with the SHRM body of knowledge. She also co-developed the Management Certificate and Management Associate in Applied Science Degree. In addition to working full-time at Washtenaw Community College in 2008, Colette launched her HR Consulting company, Human Capital Services. Human Capital Services is a full-service human resource consulting company delivering whatever HR system a business may need. Colette loves learning and growing. Nothing makes her happier than helping a person develop with the necessary skills and seeing them across the table from me as a peer. Outside of work she Volunteers at Grace Centers for Hope in Pontiac, Michigan.
