Xiomara Vazquez is Front Line Supervisor for the United States Department of Agriculture, where she has been for the past 13 years. With over three decades of experience overall in the agricultural and food safety sector, she oversees a team of 13 and is responsible for ensuring food safety for consumers. Under her watchful eye, food is labeled, determined to be disease-free, and carefully inspected. Her team visits at least 4 establishments on a daily basis, and she keeps a close read on their reports and compliance. Having started in an entry-level position in the field, Xiomara worked her way up the ranks and is proud of supervise, coach and empower others in the food safety and public health sector. She is passionate about her field, even after all these years, and holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. Xiomara was recipient of the Helping Hands Performance Award, and aspires to become Director for the Atlantic District. She credits her success to staying true in her beliefs and never compromising at the expense of the consumer.
