Deborah Lambillotte has more than 25 years of experience in the arena of human rights advocacy as it pertains to the LBGTIQ community. Though Deborah is currently a Board Member with Cavaria VZW and Project Coordinator with Aliqua Services in Belgium, she has traveled and done public policy work in places such as Israel, Italy, and Barcelona. Her experience includes having served on countless boards including the ARCI- gay and ARCI- Lesbica circolo Zami Milano organizations, ILGA organization (global and European) and Casa Rosa. Is also a former co-chair of ILGA-Europe. Deborah is often asked for advice regarding gender equality and the intersectionality between them and human rights. She is an avid believer that gender rights are equivalent to human rights, and has shared her perspective at national conferences in Belgium and abroad. For 17 years, Deborah lived in Italy, where she worked with the National Health Organization focusing on Domestic Violence and LGBTIQ issues. Her doctorate's degree (Ph.D) in pyschology equipped her for this type of work, and also qualifies her to serves as an advisor to the Italian government on matters related to mental health, domestic violence and LGBTIQ rights. Her expertise includes public policy, LBGTIQ advocacy and education, rallying, and building communities of allies. She is currently pursuing opportunities to create dialogue within Muslim communities regarding the acknowledgement of LGBTIQ rights. She is fluent in English, French, Dutch, Italian, basic in Spanish and Portuguese. Is an expert in Human Resources and recruitment.
