Dr. Daniah Trabzuni is a Neurogeneticist at UCL. With over 20 years of experience in her career, Dr. Trabzuni is best known for her expertise in biochemistry, biology and functional genomics. In her average day, Dr. Trabzuni performs several experiments of the human brain using RNA and DNA methodology, which she then takes the results of to prove various theories. Additionally, she is in charge of conducting daily labs, analyzing and writing results, attending meetings, participating in conference calls and she also, teaches Master’s students. Although originally from Saudi Arabia, in 1994 Dr. Trabzuni moved to London. She has been rated one of the highest graded student in a male dominated field at that time of her studies. After completing her studies, Dr. Trabzuni started working in the Genetics department, where she developed a passion for the field. Following the completion of her Master’s degree in Human Molecular Genetics, Dr. Trabzuni went on to receive a Doctoral degree in Neurogenetics at the University College, London in 2013. In the next three to five years, Dr. Trabzuni would like to build a bridge between personal and career development for women. Additionally, she would like to find a way to connect and share her expertise with the new generation. Dr. Trabzuni attributes her success to determination, patience and believing in herself. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member of the Worldwide Association of Female Professionals.
