Elizabeth Serrano is an events and public relations professional with over 20 years of experience. She currently serves as the Director General at Eventos Casa Azul in the Toluca Area of Mexico. In this role she organizes special events at the facilities; but also oversees overall administrative operations. Prior to settling into this role in 2014 she started a consultancy firm and worked as an independent public relations and image consultant for corporate clients. She continues in this role simultaneous to her duties at Eventos Casa Azul. She also served as Director General of COPARMEX EDO MEX, a freely affiliated Employer Union (comprised of entrepreneurs from all industries and professions) established to promote social responsibility and commitment to the development of Mexico and "for more and better companies," and to represent and defend the rights and interests of its employer members.
Casa Azul is a family business so Elizabeth naturally progressed into her role after doing several other things to establish her own independence. She worked in international trade at the start of her career but realized she really loved public relations, image consulting and events management and promotion. She wanted to bring these skills to showcasing the Toluca area.
Her goals for the future are to grow her consultant firm with more direct employees to take over some of the tasks she performs and to expand more events and grow that aspect of the family business. She says her experience, global exposure and passion are her keys to success. She considers starting and successfully running her own business for over 10 years her greatest professional achievement. She looks forward to sharing knowledge and information with fellow female professionals.
