With over 25 years of professional experience, Ellen Lopes is the CEO and Founder of Food Design Group where she brings dynamic leadership skill and unprecedented expertise in food product distribution, food quality and safety, regulatory affairs and strategic development to her role. Having always worked in the food industry, Ellen decided to begin her business, the first of its kind in Brazil, with a focus on occupational safety and environmental management. Ellen holds her Master's degree and PhD, both in Food Science. She also runs projects for the Paolista Association of Retail and the Commerce Chamber of Portugal and Brazil. She is responsible for running 30-50 conference events a year with a focus on food safety and to demonstrate trends in the food industry. Also a prolific writer, Ellen has published a book on operational procedure in food safety, translated a book about food safety culture and was featured in Food Trends 2020 and Beverage Trends 2020. Moving forward, Ellen expects to have a food design group and to ultimately retire and run the NGO where she will help small business in the food industry expand and think bigger. When not engaged with work, Ellen enjoys traveling, reading, and studying as well as volunteering to help the homeless in her community.
