I have a 2 years old daughter who is the splitting image of me (just with blond hair and blue eyes) and she has my cheeky sense of humour.
After studying P.C. Engineering I started my career as an ERP Consultant and very soon after discovered that I preferred people over machines. I was young and didn't want to take myself or life too seriously so I decided to travel. I moved from South Africa to Dubai in 2002 and have lived here ever since. I was fortunate enough to work at the Burj Al Arab (the world's only 7 star hotel) before joining Emirates, where I spent almost 14 years. I progressed form Cabin Crew to Purser and eventually hung up my wings and moved to training college. This is where I truly found my passion. I completed my degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, furthering my interest in optimising peoples performance at work and understanding human limitations. I excelled at training and facilitating all safety related courses, with CRM being my absolute favourite. I decided to take a short break after having my daughter, simply because the shift work was not conducive to having a young child. I have been lucky to have the opportunity to re-enter the work force and to return to the hospitality industry. My current role is very broad as I am involved in business development, sales, marketing, performance management, training, HR and administration. I have recently registered for a CIPD Level 5 L&D Diploma as I would like to return to my passion of helping individuals learn and grow within their work environments and to help organisations meet their goals by cultivating the unique resources each employee brings to the team.
