Personal Information
Volunteered at the Houston Crisis Hotline, The Door( for battered women) and counselor intern at a local high school.
Evangeline Williams has served as a teacher and school counselor in various New Orleans and Texas school districts for the past 27 years. Although she garnered success through teaching, earning a Teacher of the Year Award and being nominated for the Disney Hands On Teaching Award, Evangeline knew she had untapped entrepreneurial potential. Now, she owns and runs Mr. Appliance of Pearland with one technician and Customer Service Representative.
Before opening her own business, Evangeline had been a mother of three, a professional educator, and a wife and helping her husband to live out his dreams through his career. She returned to school to earn her master’s degree in school counseling and helped family and friends get back on their feet after Katrina. She was volunteering at the Houston Crisis Hotline, The Door (for battered women) and was a counselor intern at a local high school. Meanwhile, Evangeline was battling an addiction and severe depression. Six years ago, with much familial support, she got help and got clean; she decided it was time to live out her dream as an entrepreneur.
While running her business, Evangeline is also assisting her elderly mother to care for her father. Within five years, she plans to further establish her business with several techs and territories, and will be making a salary that would allow her to live comfortably. Driven to succeed, Evangeline has a strong work ethic and much determination.
