Dr. Fernanda Martins is a Director at Mapinguari Design. After 30 years experience working with companies in the south of Brazil she moved to Belem, at the mouth of the Amazon river where she became an apprentice learning from the most incredible women, and men too.
Working in design with those men and women was a life-changing experience for her. She developed several projects involving commercial enterprises and traditional communities during the last 15 years. Her experience in design was enhanced by being able to think with another point of view, including different perspectives and experiences from those around her.
In the next few years Fernanda is hoping to continue to grow and learn and influence other designers in the field. She attributes her success to being dedicated and open-minded. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
