Dr. Fritzi Strowmatt is the Founder and Doctor of Occupational Therapy at Special C.H.E.E.R.S., which she established 17 years ago. With over three decades of experience in the field, Fritzi works closely with patiens on the most dynamic intervention that one could utilize with children, to make significant changes in their lives. Having started out in clinical work, she felt there had to be a way she could compound the impact of her work on children's lives, and so she decided to transition into occupational therapy. With a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center, Fritzi went on to complete a doctorate in occupational Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals. She is a member of the Member of American Hippotherapy Association, Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, and the Alliance of Healthcare Professionals, and will be published this summer in the American Hippotherapy Association's magazine about occupational therapy and utilizing hippotherapy in a holistic approach. Looking ahead, Fritzi hopes to establish a facility that incorporates a multifaceted approach with specialists for intensive programming for individuals with special needs. She credits her success to having a loving heart, open mind, willingness to learn, and to looking at people as individuals. She takes great joy in watching the smile on the face of someone who has gained movement by being with the horse, and in seeing her patients open up and neurologically change.
