Giovanna Giacchero has extensive experience in international corporate and commercial transactions, including M&A and capital markets, with a focus on domestic and cross-border M&A and divestitures involving public and private companies. Giovanna advises companies across a number of sectors, including energy and utilities, construction, aviation, fashion, food, media, and broadcasting. She particularly focuses on the energy industry, drafting documents typically required for the acquisition, development and financing of energy plants, including power plants from renewable energy sources, transmission and distribution systems.
Prior to joining Bettini Formigaro Pericu in 2010, she worked as a Senior Associate in a pre-eminent law firm in Milan. In 2001, she served as visiting foreign attorney in a premiere law firm in New York City.
Giovanna Giacchero is also a published author in law reviews and books on a number of topics including corporate law, secured transactions, product liability, and tobacco litigation and regulation. She has been a selected panelist and lectured on Comparative Law at the University of Genoa. During her Ph.D. studies, she was also a visiting scholar at Yale Law School and at U.C. Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law.
Giovanna Giacchero graduated summa cum laude from the University of Genoa in 1991 and obtained her Ph.D. in Comparative Law from the University of Florence in 2001. In 2003, she obtained an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School. She was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1994.
