My first job was with the Royal Industry Fair, organizing events. Over the years I worked for several companies: Digital Equipment, Echelon Corp, Dutch office for Nanotechnology, Started to work for LonMark in 2006.

Henny Wieland is the Manager, Europe and Secretary Smart City Council for LonMark International. On an average day she works from home with headquarters being in California. She works with the smart city council, handles all marketing, newsletters, meetings, trade shows, and works with chairmen of the Europe Affiliates in France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland as well as with all the members in Europe. She does promotions to see how the technology can be advanced in Europe, in addition to workshops, trainings and meetings. Before joining LonMark she worked as the MarCom Manager EMEA of Echelon Corp, Echelon developed the LonWorks technology, an open and interoperable technology promoted by the members of LonMark International - that is where her journey began. She is best noted for connecting people, her creativity, developing new projects and her passion for people. She holds a Bachelors degree in People and Organization from the Open University in 1993. In the next few years she has thought of taking on a new role, and hopes to grow into another leadership position. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, origami, knitting and she sings in an ensemble. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
