Dr. Jacinth Haldane is a principal at the Retreat Primary and Junior High School in Jamaica and has been a principal for 10 years. She has been teaching for 22 years. Her mom made a big impression on her regarding education and the value of it. So as she was growing up was influenced by teachers and decided to become a teacher. Jacinth is very active in her field and conducts workshops on classroom management and has been recognized for her work and received several awards. She volunteers at the women's ministry in church and helps people with reading skills. She writes poetry and has her students perform her poems in competitions. She is currently writing a book, called "My Story" a personal biography about her and her family. The key to her success is hard work, motivation, passion and fierce interest in her work. Her most proudest moments are when students she has taught in the past come back to her and say, it's because of you that I succeeded. In the future Jacinth would like to do consultations and research for the Ministry of Education in Jamaica and would also like to begin studying human motivation. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
