Jesusa Abad is a successful quality control professional with 23 years of experience in Quality control group. Currently, she is the Senior Quality Control Manager for Actavis, where she oversees lab operations, including raw materials, finished product routine release incoming and method transfer areas. She is responsible for administrative functions of the department including performance reviews, department's budget. Her area of expertise are analytical chemistry, Quality Control, Stability and Method transfers.
Jesusa graduated with a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from Ohio State University in 1993. She is part of ASQ- American Society for Quality and the College of Chemists of Puerto Rico (Colegio de Químicos de Puerto Rico). In the beginning of her career, Jesusa was very interested in science and had opportunities to work in investigation and quality, so her career evolved naturally. The key to her success has been diverse experience within her industry and seeing her direct reports growing and progressing in their professional careers.
After 21 years in the quality control group, Jesusa would like to work more in the regulatory and quality assurance areas, expanding her knowledge in her current role and in her field. She is keen to network, enhance her branding and exposure, and is currently being certified as Green Belt Six Sigma. The highlight of her career thus far is bringing the department to the next level in projects related to continued excellence, and achieving recognition for the department. When she's not working, Jesusa enjoys running and going to the beach.
