Personal Information
Dr. Jianduan Zhang is a professor to both undergraduate and graduate students at her university. Dr. Zhang also acts as a supervisor and mentor to students in a PhD program. Her teaching and research areas are maternal and child health and medical statistics. In recent years, Dr. Zhang's research interest is primarily in child growth, nutrition and obesity problems, with the focus more recently on a cross-cultural comparisons of early growth and obesity development between children from high- and low-risk families through longitudinal follow-up. She has extensive amount of academic papers published in the field of Public Health. Dr. Zhang has a true passion for her work and in her spare time she provides training at a local community health center and also assists the China Youth Link group with creating healthy lifestyle plans for schools. Most recently Dr. Zhang started her involve in health policy and now she is a fellow student at Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, for her Master of International Development Policy (MIDP) September, 2015. She is very clear about her goals and is focused on using her research to implement a positive change in public policy. As Dr. Zhang looks to the future, she hopes to continue working in the U.S.A. and gain more professional development and work experience. Dr. Zhang is fluent in Mandarin and English.
