Jimena Blanco is the Head of Americas, Politics and Research at Verisk Maplecroft. She has been in her current role since 2006. Jimena’s responsibilities include risk assessment, speaking to clients, attending conferences and working closely with her team. She says she was prompted to go into this field as a result of her passionate for politics. Jimena is best known for the development of a country, oil, gas, and mining sectors. She has a Master's Degree in Latin American Area Studies from the Institute for the Study of the Americas in 2006. Jimena does some public speaking and also TV broadcasting pertaining to the oil and gas sector. She was published in 2011 when she did study of communications called "The Farc Files Column Venezuela, Ecuador and the Secret Archive of Raul Reyes." Jimena received a Founders Scholarship and IberoAmerican Scholarship to attend the United World College. In the future she hopes to grow a team and expand her team in South America. She says she would love to establish herself as an expert in this field. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
