Joana Forte is the CEO and Founder of an NGO, Integrar Diligente, where she spearheads the organization's tireless dedication to advocacy for the underprivileged in her native Portugal. After learning of the many socioeconomic obstacles facing those around her including discrimination, poverty, exclusion and lack of housing, Ms. Forte was inspired to funnel her energy and expertise into social change. Also a committed mentor, she works as a private tutor for children, teaching English and Portuguese.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Forte was an acclaimed journalist for over two decades. Still a prolific writer, she frequently writes and publishes articles with various web and paper publications. She received her Master's degree in African Studies and Operation and Development from EUL Lisbon University in 2017.
Moving forward, Ms. Forte will continue to work with her newly developed NGO, growing the organization to extend to countries outside of Portugal in addition to continuing to tutor students. She credits her success with remaining loyal to her core values, perseverance and dedication. In her spare time, Ms. Forte enjoys yoga and meditation.
