At the start of her career, Joyce Ogunyemi joined an environmental conservation organisation as a Fundraising/Activities Officer. After about four years, she became a CEO and led a startup human rights organisation. Here, she facilitated networking activities among human rights organisations around the West African region. Thereafter, Joyce decided to pursue her passion in empowering the less privileged and retrained as a teacher. In between, she completed two Masters programme; MA Education and International Development (Institute of Education, University of London) and MSc Development Practice (Trinity College, Dublin). Currently, she is in the process of completing a Doctorate in Education (Learning, Leadership and Policy) at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom. Joyce teaches Maths in a Category B male Prison with a population of over 1,450 in Manchester, United Kingdom. Moving forward, Joyce plans to continue making a difference in the lives of others through her work. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, reading and singing.
