Dr. Josefina Castillo has over 9 years of experience as Director of Academic the Department and as Professor at the Instituto Tecnolofico of Monterrey. She teaches Biotechnology, and is responsible for changing the curriculum to now include online classes and simulators. As chair, she also manages the department and is involved with the recruitment of professors. Having grown up in a household in which both parents were teachers, Josefina is proud that her family has a history of over 100 years in education. This had a profound effect on her young girl, and after graduating from the university, she gravitated toward the teaching, progressing to her current position. Josefina holds a PhD degree in Microbiology, focusing in bioreactors, from the Instituto Tecnologico of Monterrey. Her thesis was published in 2011, and she is a frequent speaker within the university and academic community. She credits her success to being organized, prepare, and continuing to update her knowledge.
