Joyce Boatright, teacher and Faculty Director for Lone Star College in North Harris, is responsible for the professional development of 200 full-time and 800 adjunct faculty members. She has acquired her passion for teaching and education from her parents, both of whom are distinguished educators.
A graduate of Texas A&M, Joyce earned both a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Education. She serves on the Board of Directors of Story Circle Network and is a member of the Writers League of Texas. Her areas of expertise lie in memoir writing, curriculum development, instructional design, workshop facilitation, and educational leadership.
Joyce is a seasoned teacher of developmental writing and English and is a sought after workshop facilitator. In her workshops, Joyce assists participants in writing the stories of their lives, teaching the craft and creativity of writing. She also guides students through writing exercises to heal their psychological wounds and grow into their potential. Joyce will be conducting workshops at the upcoming Write Fest, a four-day workshop in Houston, Texas.
