Karen B. Saunders is the Director of DoD. She has over fifteen years of experience in her field. She oversees all the cases for the discrimination for engineering command, employment law, does training and has a large staff that she manages. Karen says this profession found her and that she is a very people oriented person. Karen says she is best known for being a reign maker, connecting with people and she is very good in mediation and settling conflicts between people. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Human Resources from National Lewis University and graduated in 1995. She was once involved in the National Association of Negro Women. Karen does a lot of public speaking for the department and has done sessions with community and church organizations. She received a lot of awards in her work experience throughout her career and won the Department of Defense Superior Service Award as the EEO Director. In the next few years she hopes to be working at the policy level where she is writing policies and laws.
