Karla C. Hawley has over 12 years of experience in her career field of neurology and psychology. She says she works over 60 hours a week typically and sees clients ranging in veterans, elders, foster children and trauma victims. Her role is to guide them and coach through the healing process with music therapy.
Karla says she loved music as a child and played piano since she was a child and went into Psychology as an adult. She eventually combines both passions into one career. Her expertise are in social isolation, children/foster care, veterans and trauma victims.
Karla received her education from the City University of Vancouver in 2000. She belongs to the Washington Association of Music Therapy, American Association of Music Therapy and Crest Trail Pacific Association. She hosts some conferences, led a Ted Talk in 2016 and lectures at the Pacific University on music therapy.
Karla is currently In the process of writing book. She won the Presidential Honors Masters Award when she was in school. In the next few years she plans on continuing to educate, write books and coach trauma. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
