Karla Sala is the Director of Gender Perspective for the Federal Telecommunications Institute. She has been in her current role for five years. The company is a public organization that regulates telecommunications. Currently, they are trying to fix the issue of gender equality within the field. Her role is creating those initiatives to get more women in the field.
Her expertise are in public policies and economics. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Policies from a local university in 2013. She has a second Master’s Degree in Economics from Collegio de Mexico in 2003. As a woman, she wants to empower other females and wants to take part in the fight for gender equality, especially in STEM fields.
She says that the highlight of career is being in her current position and being able to manage being a mom and have a successful career simultaneously. In the future she says that she hopes to continue growing within the company. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
