Karlene Francois is the Senior Planning Officer for Ministry of Planning and Development. She manages a team of 4 aimed at providing support to the Ministry's policy driven mandate through research driven initiatives to inform national development. As Technical Coordinator for the VIII Americas Competitiveness Forum, she managed a team of 4 providing support to the Minister of Planning and Development as well as composing, researching and managing the technical content under the guidance of the General Coordinator for the Forum and with the support of the Technical Secretariat from the Organization of American States. Karlene was prompted into this profession by an opportunity. In the next 3-5 years she was to focus on working on project based environment and possible entrepreneurship. The highlight of her career was in 2009, when she was handled the responsibility for a huge event in Trinidad and Tabago.
