Personal Information
Katerina Kolyva is the Director of Continued Practice at Nursing Midwifery Council. She is an Executive Director and change leader in a UK high profile public sector (regulatory) organization. Her expertise is on strategy and policy development in higher education and healthcare with a strong engagement and change portfolio in the UK and EU. She spends most of her time and energy negotiating strategies with governments, leading change and push for improvements in policy.
Katerina is proud of her multicultural and multilingual profile. She is fluent in five languages and has lived in five EU countries leading programmes involving more than 20 countries. She is also passionate about female identities and their impact on politics and international affairs. As part of her PhD on identity building, she was awarded two Marie Curie fellowships by the EU to follow research in Denmark and Belgium. She is also known in the UK for being the lead director for the transformational programme of revalidation, the continuing development of professionals in nursing and midwifery launched in 2015.
