Dr. Kati Thieme has over 29 years of experience in her field and is currently a Professor of Medical Psychology at Philipps-University Marburg where she is the head of the department and works with medical students on Pain Therapy. After growing up with a mother suffering badly from migraine headaches, it become her passion to develop a cure.
Dr. Thieme holds her PhD in Psychology from the University of Tubingen in Germany and is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain, The German Society for Pain, and The American Association for Psychology. She holds yearly meetings in Germany and the U.S. about Fibromyalgia and has appeared in 70 Publications and 50 Interviews. She was also the recipient of the German Pain Prize in 2012. Moving forward, she plans to continue her work with engineers to reduce chronic pain and addictions.
When not engaged with work, Dr. Thieme enjoys classical guitar, piano, cello and swimming as well as spending time with her four children.
