Kisha Christian is the Owner of Neighborhood Pharmacy. She started the business in 2015. She worked for two other independent pharmacies and said she felt like they didn’t know what the community needed, they were more concerned with making money. She put in a plan and decided to open her own pharmacy.
Kisha hosts some seminars, once gave an informational talk to pass legislation for hemp and marijuana and spoke for APhA about teaching other pharmacists on how to do the flu vaccine. She was featured on the cover of a local magazine in 2016. Kisha was named Pharmacist of the Year in 2016 from Target Corporation and won Best Small Business in 2016.
Kisha says the keys to her success have been determination, never givin up and doing what she loves. In the next three to five years she hopes to add durable medical equipment to her business and to expand and open a pharmacy on one of the other island and possibly a clinic.
She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
