Leigh-Anne Koylass-Shand has been the Owner and General Manager of Lifelab Ltd for 5 years, a medical laboratory where patients go to get blood and drug tests administrated in a safe and sanitary environment with high regulatory standards. Leigh-Anne oversees several techs who administer these exams as well as a few experts that analyze biopsies of certain tissue for exams that are requested. In this role, Leigh-Anne brings unmatched expertise in molecular biology, life sciences and hematology.
After serving as a general manager for 4 years at a private lab within a hospital, Leigh-Annie realized that Trinidad didn't have regulatory standards, so with her knowledge of international standards in medical labs, she decided to start her own lab. She holds her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Analytical Chemistry from the University of West Indies, St. Augustine and is a member of DATIA. Also an educator, Leigh-Anne lectures during university forums pertaining to what students can do as a career once they have received their degree and is a certified drug and alcohol substance trainer.
When not engaged with work, Leigh-Anne enjoys spending as much time as possible with her three-year-old son. Also a passionate philanthropist, she is part of Soroptimist International, an organization that is known for helping women and girls feel empowered and follow their dreams.
