More than 25 years
Linda J. Schroeter is the owner and lead instructor of Russian River Atelier. She studied fine arts, graphic design and Illustration at the Southern Australian College of Arts. Linda worked for 28 years in the graphic design world, all the while seeking out professionals in the area of Atelier Art, which is not taught in any College or University, world wide. Linda and her instructors teach the community of Sonoma County how to utilize art education to create Atelier style works of art. The company offers diverse classes and workshops to bring an approach to painting and drawing absent in most institutional contemporary art education. Linda’s teaching methods are grounded on acute observation of nature using systems refined through centuries of experience and passed down through generations of master artists and their disciples. This type of training reached it’s peak in the 19th century, all but disappearing in the 20th, but for a few scattered artists who maintained the traditions. It is her goal to help this art enjoy a resurgence here in the 21st. century.
