Liz spent over 40 years in retail and wholesale working for major public companies. She retired February 1st as EVP and Chief Merchant of JC Penney.

Liz Sweney is the recently retired EVP of Merchandising for JC Penny. Over her 16 years at JC Penny, she was responsible for forecasting sales, marketing and all merchandising for 1,020 stores and Liz is a public speaker on the topics of retail, personal branding and career paths. Liz is a graduate of The College of New Rochelle, class of 1976, with a BA in Political Science. She is active with Childrens Advocacy and the United Way of Detoqueville. The highlight of her career is being able to mentor others. Now retired and having more time, she is eager to network and continue mentoring emerging professionals.
