Lia Smith-Pratt has 25 years of experience in the field of home care and has been the CEO of A Better Solution In Home Care, Inc. for the past 15 years. In 2015 they opened their first franchise office in Temecula County. Lia built her company from the ground up and at the root of her success is hard work, expansive knowledge of the industry, and her desire to achieve greater care for seniors. Their approach centers on providing high quality of care and dignity in their clients' homes, and this goal was the fundamental reason Lia originally started the company. They focus on quality rather than quantity, so they limit their caseload to provide each and every client the attention and comfort they deserve. Services range from housekeeping to skilled companionship in the San Diego area. Lia serves on the Board of the California State Association for Health Services in the Home and attends monthly roundtables in Sacramento to discuss statewide initiatives and services with other home care company owners. She also attends regional meetings to discuss laws in the home care industry. In addition, Lia coaches and speaks to other business owners regarding success, strategy, and business. In order to help educate the senior population, Lia regularly speaks to senior groups regarding their options for home care, healthcare, and alternative living, through church groups, and through the American Red Cross. Overall, Lia seeks to help others develop systems to open and run their own home care agencies. To that end, she is seeking greater exposure, to solidify the company brand, to have their name out there more, and to develop a national brand to promote on the franchise side of things. On the personal front, Lia works with California CASA Association to help children and ABSCRO providing meals and clothing to the homeless on a monthly basis. She loves spending time with her 8 year old daughter who enjoys soccer and reading. She also writes a regular blog about her business and work.
