An esteemed educational professional of over 50 years, Lucila Sotomayor is the Founder and Head of Academics and Board of Directors for the Instituto D’Amicis, SC, an institution that has provided stellar international education for over 35 years. In this role, Ms. Sotomayor is in charge of implementing the IB Program in the school, she's introduced many International programs, and has led the Board of the Directors for the past 10 years. At her institute, Ms. Sotomayor places a focus on the importance of giving students a voice and assisting them in becoming citizens of the world. She brings unmatched expertise in teaching languages, professional development and training teachers to reach their utmost potential. Ms. Sotomayor holds her Master's degree in Humanistic Education from the University of Iberoameritana and is a member of the The Educators Network of the International (IB). Moving forward, she hopes to continue to train teachers to become better teachers, to give back what she has received, and to become connected with other educators to make a difference in the world as she values the voice of women in the workforce. When not engaged with work, Ms. Sotomayor enjoys travel, reading, music, trying different cuisines and spending time with her husband of 49 years.
