Mariana Vasquez Cortes has been involved in education since she was working on her Bachelor’s Degree. She says that she sees a huge inequity in education and that pushed her to start working in higher education to bridge the gaps. She tries to help those in need.
Mariana has done public speaking at conferences and spoke at a research congress last year. As part of the research group for faculty she does some writing and internal publications for the university on a very small scale. She is beginning to do research about female teachers and wants to make a difference in those fields in Colombia.
Mariana says there are a lot of problems in the agricultural industry in Columbia. She hopes to work in public policy in that field from the educational and gender equality perspective. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
