Very family oriented! My father now deceased was a Real Estate Developer in Havana, Cuba. We left Cuba in 1960 and my father, brothers and myself are also Developers and Property Managers. Developing Condominiums, Urbanization of Houses, 2 Hotels, Golf Courses, Shopping Malls, Shopping Centers and Affordable Housing Projects. At the same time Managing the Affordable Housing Properties for the past 35 years.
Ms. Maria Elena Rubí González, President brings to Mora Housing Management the experience of 35 years in the administration and management of properties under different Federally Assisted Housing Programs previously mentioned. Working in subsidy properties since 1977 and at the present directly involved in the operation and management of HUD assisted properties. She is a highly experience professional in the housing industry creating effective and successful management by creating policies and procedures for the Administration, Maintenance, Social Works, Resident Satisfaction, Complaint, Legal, Financial, Procurement and Human Resources Department. She also created operational manuals for all departments and a unique Manual for the Residents at the time of move-in. During her years of experience she has worked in 30 housing projects offering service to 4,045 housing units. She works in property subsidy and is directly involved in the operation and management of HUD assisted properties, and also with properties with low-income tax credit (LIHTC) programs. She has vast experience in the following programs; 221 (d) (3) / New Constructor, 221 (d)(3)/BMIR and Rental Market, 221 (d)(4), FHA Insured projects, Section 8 Loan Management Set Aside, Section 8/Project Base Voucher, MOD-Rehabilitation Program, Voucher Program, LIHTC Program under Section 42 and Puerto Rico Housing Tax Credit Program under Law 140 and lately under the RAD which is the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program. Under this program Ms. Rubí was awarded on December 20, 2012 a RAD with a 20 year section 8 subsidy under Project Based Voucher Program. This was a National Competition and her project Los Claveles I was awarded the Rad Contract. Her 35 year experience in management and other services proved to federally assisted housings has produce the best team of human resources that guarantee proficiency and efficiency that will bring forth and operational improvement for the PRPHA. Mrs. Rubi is a Certified Occupancy Specialist, a Certified Manager of Housing and a Tax Credit Technician, REAC and LIHTC Program.

At the present property management is our main work. Specialized on Housing & Urban Development subsidy Programs, Multifamily project rentals under different programs. We assist HUD and PR Housing Department on trouble properties. We bring excellent service to our clients.
Maria is experienced in the Property Management industry, specialized in HUD Programs, Tax Credit LITCH of US and PR. She is a member of the National Lease Housing Association (NLHA), (SAHMA) South Eastern Housing Management Association, SAHMA Puerto Rico Chapter. I have many years of experience working with HUD. Mora Housing was awarded by HUD as "Best Practices and for Outstanding Achievements. Recently given a RAD AWARD (Rental Assistance Demonstration) from HUD on a national competition for one of our properties which grants 20 years of Section 8 subsidy in order to preserve the affordable housing market. RAD is a new Program from HUD and we were the only ones awarded in Puerto Rico. For the past 14 years Maria's family has been involved with a foundation called The Mercedes Rubi Foundation which helps with the Neurological Center in Puerto Rico for Endovascular surgery. The reason for this foundation was my own experience when I suffered an aneurism in a brain artery and there was no equipment in Puerto Rico at that time to help me with this critical situation. I had surgery in the US which was a success. At that moment the family decided to donate that equipment to the Medical Center of Puerto Rico in order to save lives. We named the Foundation after our Mother Mercedes Rubi who taught us to be generous at all times. Since 2002 I am in charge of the Foundation and at the present we have several equipments for the endovascular surgeries performed at Centro Medico. We were able to obtain annual funds from the Legislature of Puerto Rico as a result of the successful operation of the Foundation and the commitment to save lives. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
