Maria Elena Garcia Botero is an Artist for Garcia-Botero Studio. She has had her studio for approximately 35 years. She teaches classes on sculptures and clay, oils, acrylics and woodcut printing. She says she has always been interested in painting and art and received a scholarship for college so she went. From there she has been working in the industry. She is very passionate about her artwork as well as teaching it to others. Maria’s expertise are in painting. She has a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin and graduated in 1974. She has been published in multiple different catalogs in relation to her art work. Maria won the Artists for Peace Award in 1986. She attributes her success to resilience, hard work and dedication. In the future Maria says she may pursue a career in New York and she will continue to grow and expand her business. She says her biggest accomplishment is that she has been working with freedom, she has become successful and she never gave up. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
