Maria Leonora is an accomplished chemical scientist who has worked in various positions in the medical product development sector for 15 years. She currently serves as R&D Project Leader at Baxter International where she oversees every aspect of product development from its inception to roll-out: regulatory, quality and manufacturing. Maria believes in the value of teamwork and knows the importance of mentoring teams and facilitating team development, which results in a more productive work environment where everyone's contribution is valued. Maria began her career in 2001 as Pharmaceutical Assistant for Sweden's Apoteket AB. In 2007, she moved into the position of Development/Production Chemist for Mip Technologies AB where she produced MIPs (molecular imprinted polymers) in a large scale (max 20 kgs) and developed new production methods of MIPs for custom designed resins. In 2008, Maria joined Gambro as a Development Chemist/Engineer and eventually became Project Leader responsible for leading both the core and technical teams overseeing every aspect of new products. In 2014, she stepped into her current position.
